All financial institutions as well as the onshore money, bond and foreign exchange markets will be closed on Thursday and Friday, according to Bank Negara Malaysia. They will reopen on Monday, May 14.
The announcement of the closure of the markets follows the proclamation by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa about the election-related nationwide holidays. Bank Negara was scheduled to announce its monetary policy statement on Thursday, but this has been postponed to a later date.
