KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 (Bernama) — The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED) Malaysia through SME Corp. Malaysia provides a platform for SMEs in Malaysia to access and expand their businesses to Japan’s market through the Malaysia Halal Expo 2019 (MHE 2019) which opens on 24 January 2019 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The business matching sessions are one of the key highlights of MHE 2019. The sessions will provide an excellent avenue for SMEs to network and forge business linkages with large companies and multinational corporations (MNCs) from Japan. The business matching session will take place on 24 & 25 January 2019 from 10.20 am to 6.00 pm and 26 January 2019 from 10.20 am to 1.00 pm at Hall 2, Level 2, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. It is interesting to note that the participation in business matching for MHE 2019 will mainly focus on the Japan marketplace in order to promote halal products and services for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympic Games. The participation in business matching comprises Hypermarkets and large companies from various sectors including food processing, food & beverages, pharmaceutical, machinery & engineering as well as services.
A total of 21 potential leading buyers including 15 Japanese anchor companies and 6 local anchor companies are expected to participate in the business matching sessions. Among the Japanese anchor companies are Family Mart, MHC Co. Ltd, Yatsumoto Tsusho Co, Ltd, Sohgo Kikaku Co, Ltd, Asia Trading & Services Co Ltd and Hayabusa International. While the Malaysian anchor companies comprise Tesco Stores Malaysia, Ramly Food Marketing Sdn Bhd, Lulu Group Retails Sdn Bhd, Nestle Manufacturing (M) Sdn Bhd, Aeon Big Malaysia and Desatera Sdn Bhd.
This three-day business matching is expected to generate a total of RM50 million in potential sales through 330 sessions. The session are also aimed at providing a world-class market access and networking platform for Malaysian SMEs with their international counterparts.
Malaysia Halal Expo 2019 is open to all and admission is FREE for all visitors. Visitors of all ages are invited to visit the Malaysia Halal Expo 2019 from 24 – 26 January 2019 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Hall 1 – 4. Visiting hours are from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
