KUALA LUMPUR, 13 March 2019 – Bett Asia, the region’s leading education technology summit and expo opened at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, yesterday, 12 March 2019. The Bett Asia Leadership Summit was officiated by Minister of Education Malaysia, YB Dr. Maszlee bin Malik and attracted over 2,000 attendees including policymakers, leaders, and experts in education and technology sectors around the world.
In its fifth year of organizing this event, Bett Asia 2019 features a specially curated programme of over 100 influential speakers transforming education and over 50 companies, showcasing cutting-edge products and solutions in Education Technology with the theme of “Building a changing culture to deliver 21st-century learning,”
Yang Berhormat Dr. Maszlee bin Malik, Minister of Education, Malaysia was invited to give a speech on the importance of STEM education and integrating it into social and emotional learning to cultivate a holistic approach to education for students. YB Dr. Mazlee was then invited to joined on stage by the Minister of Education of Brunei (Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman) and the Undersecretary at Department of Education of the Philippines (Jesus L. R. Mateo) for a ministerial panel that was chaired by Patrick Hayes, Director of BESA and EdTech Exchange. The panel discussed the need for building a changing culture to deliver 21st-century learning, besides highlighting their strategic plan and efforts towards driving this in their respective countries.
