Cyberjaya, 19 July 2019 – The Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) takes serious note of the findings and recommendations on the mismanagement of MCMC Fund.
It is raised in the latest edition of Auditor-General’s Report 2018 series 1. The report revealed that under the previous Minister’s helm, the approval for projects was not implemented transparently.
This has breached the requirements under the MCMC Act 1998.
Under the helm of YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of MCMC has implemented various initiative to reform and improve existing procedure and enhancing governance.
MCMC has stopped all Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme for the Minister.
It also updated existing guidelines on the financial limit involving the MCMC’s finances are approved by the authority.
Each project or any rising matters that needs approval from the management are approved by the MCMC’s Management Commitee Meeting before it presented to Commission Members.
MCMC will not tlerate any misconduct by any of its officers and will fully cooperate with the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) throughout their investigation process.
