PUCHONG, 25 September 2019 – A Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme organized jointly by Public Works Department (PWD) and Roadcare (M) Sdn Bhd (Roadcare), a subsidiary of Protasco Berhad, has lead an engagement with more than 432 students and educators of Sekolah Kebangsaan Pulau Meranti aiming to increase road safety awareness, as well as to acquire schooling assistance.
An amount of RM5,000,00. was given to the school for improvements of infrastucture as well as a talk on safety conducts as road users, demonstrations and other road tips, given by a PWD representative.
As part of a series of initiatives that Roadcare undertakes consistently every year, the group continues to engage with stakeholders through strategic Corporate Social Responsibility programmes, as a pioneer and specialist in road construction and maintenance in Malaysia.
The Road Safety Awareness Programme launched by Deputy Director General of Infra Sector, PWD YBhg Tn Hj Zulakmal b Hj Sufian, witnessed a handover of the schooling assistance by Roadcare to 52 underprivileged students at the school where the recipients each received a contribution worth RM120, which includes pocket money, stationaries and a school bag. Students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Pulau Meranti also received school stationery supplies during the event.
Similar programmes have been organised previously to work as a platform to heighten awareness on the importance of keeping each other safe, especially on the road and also to engage with the locals and share contributions to the less fortunate.
