"We are excited to receive this Sliver Class award that confirms Delta’s positive trajectory in sustainability leadership in Thailand and in Southeast Asia. Thanks to everyone’s effort and dedication to responsible business and global citizenship, we have reached another milestone in our sustainability journey," said Mr. Hsieh Shen-yen, Delta Electronics (Thailand) President. "Our long-term strategy prioritizes responsible business, energy-saving and environmental conservation to benefit all stakeholders and support regional sustainable development."

Manjit Jus, Global Head ESG Research and Data at S&P Global said, "We congratulate Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. on its SILVER Award in The Sustainability Yearbook 2020, which showcases the best performing companies among industry peers and in terms of financially material ESG metrics. As the Corporate Sustainability Assessment constantly raises the bar, so the Yearbook remains a highly credible source of corporate sustainability insights. This year it is launched under the S&P Global brand, and with increased public access to the SAM ESG Scores of all companies."

Created jointly by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmark and tracks the stock performance of the world’s leading companies in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria. This year, S&P Global published the Sustainability Yearbook 2020 in collaboration with RobecoSAM after S&P Global’s acquisition of the ESG Ratings business from RobecoSAM.

In 2019, S&P Global assessed 4,710 companies in 61 industries under the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) with 458 companies from 33 countries qualifying for the Sustainability Yearbook 2020. Delta Thailand won the Silver Class distinction for assessed companies with a total CSA score of at least 57 that is within a range of 1%-5% of the industry’s top performing companies.

Every year, Delta Thailand creates new projects and improves targets on its existing sustainability efforts. For example, Delta has been escalating its efforts to educate partners and suppliers on the benefits and methodology for anti-corruption and creating a circular economy since 2018. The company also initiated reporting mechanisms and extensive data collection programs to measure and encourage recycled materials usage and carbon footprint tracking of its products. This continuous improvement and sustainable growth helps Delta to emerge as a sustainability leader that delivers on its brand promise: Smarter. Greener. Together.
