KUALA LUMPUR, 3 February 2020 – The IFP Awards (IFPA) and Malaysian Financial Planner of the Year Awards 2020 was jointly organised by Islamic Banking & Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) and Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) with the purpose of recognising candidates who successfully complete and pass their Islamic Financial Planner (IFP) professional certification.
Those who have yet to obtain their 3 years’ experience to be certified received their Certificate of Completion, whilst those who fulfill the required experience was awarded as an IFP Certified.
Islamic Financial Planner (IFP) is designed specially for professionals and personnel serving the retail segment of the Islamic financial products and growing demands of discerning Muslim retail clientele call for higher standards of competency and ethical practice of financial planning professionals. IFP has obtained Full Accreditation status by the Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA).
As a joint effort, FPAM President, Mr. Ismitz Matthew De Alwis, CFP, IFP gave the Opening Address followed by Welcome Address by Encik Muhammad Fikri Mohamad Rawi, Board Member of IBFIM, and Keynote Address by Puan Sharifatul Hanizah, Executive Director of Islamic Capital Market, Securities Commission Malaysia (SC).
The MFPYA was launched by Mr. Steve Teoh, Vice-Chairman of Board of Certification and Standards and Ms Tang Wee Hen, Director of PlanPlus shared insights into the competition.
The Malaysian Financial Planner of the Year Awards launched in 2015. The winners were selected based on the impact their plan has made to their clients’ lives. The Champion automatically qualifies to enter the PlanPlus Global Financial Planning Awards. Kenanga Investors Bhd acted as the generous sponsor for the Champion cash price of RM3,000 while Manulife Investment Management contributed for 1st runner up cash price of RM2,000 and iFAST Capital Sdn bhd for 2nd runner up cash price of RM1,000.
