KUALA LUMPUR, 6 February 2020 – Touch ‘n Go has recently announced that from February 15, their RFID tags will be priced at RM35 which can be purchased at fitment centres nationwide.
The RFID tag fees are currently now waived as part of a pilot programme in order to get people to sign up since 2018. The RM35 purchase comes with a free first-time replacement on the same vehicle for when users need to get a new RFID tag.
Touch ‘n Go Chief Executive Officer, Syahrunizam Samsudin said for the past 18 months, the company has invested in one million TNG RFID tags for Malaysians during the pilot programme.
“Now it is time for us to move forward and continue to expand the use of RFID technology together with our partners across the mobility ecosystem. This includes fuelling, parking, and retail drive-thrus.”

The RFID tag is placed on a user’s car windscreen or headlamp. Embedded with a radio-frequency chip, the tag is used as an electronic payment system when going through toll plazas.
The company’s RFID registration website currently has three fixed fitment centres listed at locations in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. Users can look for other RFID fixment locations in Johor and other Klang Valley areas on their website.
