Being successful can mean many things to different people and each individual has his/her own idea of what is the most important aspiration in life. Some give priority to being healthy, while others desire to have a happy family life. Most, however, will chase after career success and material wealth because these are regarded as the “fuel” that keeps life moving.
Success can be created by every individual. We should not be waiting for success to drop onto our lap as, without action, success will never come. The basic quotients of success are “realistic goals, workable plan, and great effort”.
First, have a realistic goal. To illustrate a point: if you wish to start off on a journey, isn’t it important for you to have a destination in mind? In life, people seek to achieve certain goals. Without a goal, you will be travelling life’s journey without a destination, wandering aimlessly because you do not know what you want. If you have a goal, make sure that it is one that can be achieved given the abilities you have.
Second, work on the roadmap to your destination, i.e. your plan to achieve your goal. Work on the plan to your best ability to help you kick-start your journey. You should have a plan in hand no matter how incomplete it is. You can develop the details as you go along. Do not wait until you have the perfect plan because without ever starting, you will never know how good your plan can turn out.
Third, put in the effort and keep on working until you achieve your goal. Keep in mind that every success comes with great effort.
This is easier said than done. Success stories are always presented in such short and sweet messages that they delude most into thinking that achieving success is easy. It is intentional as they are meant to motivate you to dream big and work for it.
But before you act, you need to understand that quotients are like a standard roadmap and are not indicative of human capabilities. Everyone has his/her strengths and weaknesses and should first find out what these are. Similarly, before you begin your journey, you should first understand your vehicle’s strengths and weaknesses so as to have a smooth journey and to arrive early at your destination.
In Chinese civilization, knowledge of Chinese metaphysics can be used to find out a person’s strengths and weaknesses. Chinese metaphysic studies are statistical records kept in code form. Metaphysicians will unlock the codes to retrieve the history of individuals with similar codes as yours to give you information. This information will serve as a guideline for you to achieve success.
People can increase their wealth and success by first understanding their own strengths and weaknesses with metaphysic studies before they begin. As a Chinese saying goes, “Know thyself (your strengths and weaknesses), know thy opponent (your goals), hence a hundred battles fought, a hundred victories won – be victorious always.”
Many a time wealth management is discussed in terms of financial assets, obligations, and liabilities, but seldom discussed in humanistic terms such as family, love, health, and so on. In Feng Shui’s perspective, how can one’s amassed wealth – be it in financial or humanistic terms – be preserved and kept for future generations?
The ancient Chinese call it Feng Shui, literally meaning “wind and water”, because these two elements are very important to our environment. Amongst these ancient people, who were mostly farmers or those who relied on the environment to survive, wind and water meant their survival. To the rich and powerful, a good environment would help bring peace and prosperity.
The Chinese use these two words to emphasise the importance of our environment. For the past 4,500 years, the Chinese have been adding to their knowledge of Feng Shui. However, at that time, only the rich and powerful understood its value.
The effect of our environment cannot be seen with the naked eye and an environment that has been destroyed could be difficult to restore. The known impact of Feng Shui on occupants encompasses the premises’ magnetic field that causes rapid or slow blood flow in the occupants, the size of the room that causes comfort or stress, the height of the room ceiling that causes compression of air that affects occupants’ emotions, the bright or dim lighting that causes occupants to be active or passive, the size of a window that brings fresh air into the room and causes occupants to be alert or dull, and plants that contribute to high or low humidity, and so on and so forth.
Thus, Feng Shui focuses on helping us take preventive measures before the environment slowly causes disruptions to our mind, body, and spirit, i.e. physically and mentally.
Can Feng Shui be used as a “fortune kit” to predict one’s wealth in life?
Feng Shui takes care of our environment for us so that we stay physically and mentally healthy. Having a good environment that provides us with the opportunity to rest and recover, it indirectly nurtures our mind, body, and spirit so that we are more agile and alert in handling our daily undertakings.
Rather than a “fortune kit”, Feng Shui acts as a tool that helps us amass wealth. Whether we are able to amass wealth rests on our willingness and capabilities. One must be willing to amass wealth before he/she can find ways to amass it. Wanting wealth and being willing to amass wealth are two different issues. Wanting wealth is hoping for wealth to fall into our lap. Willingness to amass wealth is being willing to work to gather wealth. If there is a will there is a way, so naturally, one will think of all possible ways to amass wealth.
If one is capable, amassing wealth becomes an easy task. If one is not, then amassing wealth will become a difficult and lengthy task. But as long as one is willing, a person will amass wealth if he/she has good Feng Shui.
Therefore, Feng Shui is not a kit to predict one’s state of wealth in life; it is a tool to assist one amass wealth.
