KUALA LUMPUR, 19 March 2020 – AmBank Malaysia has prioritised providing relief to customers who are impacted by the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. They continue to offer temporary payment deferment for affected customers, both individuals and businesses.
In line with this measure, the bank is proactively engaging with customers via Relationship Managers to extend their trade bills by one cycle in order to further cushion the impact to cash flow.
The bank is also offering a Special Relief Facility comprising financing of up to RM1 million to small medium enterprises (SMEs) affected by COVID-19. They have established a simple process for those applying for this facility with approval provided within 24 hours and disbursement within 5 days of approval.
In addition, the bank is reaching out to their SME customers from all sectors of the economy who are impacted by the current Movement Control Order in order to gauge how else they can be of service in this difficult time.

AmBank will continue to serve their customers at branches and via their AmOnline services as well as ATMs nationwide which are available 24/7.
In addition to this, AmBank’s insurance arms, AmMetLife and AmMetLife Takaful have introduced supportive financial relief to assist policy owners. Both insurance companies will cover hospital admission due to COVID-19. The Ministry of Health currently requires treatment to be undertaken at designated government hospitals.
