Maxis extends further support for customers with additional 1GB data
Share on FacebookShare on WhatsApp

KUALA LUMPUR, 28 March 2020 – Ensuring that the connectivity lifeline remains uninterrupted and accessible for all customers, Maxis has once again reaffirmed its commitment to create a safer and connected Malaysia with even more support for its employees, customers, businesses and heroic front liners.

In line with the PRIHATIN Economic Stimulus Package announced by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on 27 March, Maxis is offering 1GB of free mobile data every day for all Maxis postpaid, Maxis Business postpaid, Hotlink Prepaid and Hotlink postpaid customers.

Customers can redeem the data starting 1 April 2020 throughout the extended MCO period, for use between 8am to 6pm daily.

With the new 1GB commitment, the one-time 3GB previously announced will still be available for redemption until 2 April.

Maxis customers will also continue to have free access to selected websites for all the latest updates and important information, including free calls to the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CRPC) hotline and telephone numbers of all State Health Departments during the MCO period.

As also announced earlier to help businesses stay home and stay connected, there is a six-month free subscription on Maxis’ Managed Unified Communications through Microsoft Teams for Teams Phone System and Teams Calling packages (first-come-first-serve).

Maxis also continues to support the community with its flagship programme eKelas, by enabling students from the rural communities to continue learning during the MCO, with free access and unlimited use of data on the eKelas portal from their homes.

The portal provides learning content for Science, Mathematics and English for Year 6 to Form 5. Additionally, eKelas students have special access to the National Library’s 14,000 eBooks and audio books.

To find out more about these initiatives and incentives, customers can visit www.maxis.com.my/stayhomestayconnected, www.hotlink.com.my or call 123 from their mobile or 1 800 82 1123 from their fixed line.
