KUALA LUMPUR – The Hiring Incentive Programme, PenjanaKerjaya under the economic recovery package (PENJANA) has begun on 15 June 2020. Implemented by Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) under the supervision of the Ministry of Human Resources, PenjanaKerjaya aims at promoting job creation and increasing employment prospects.
“As PenjanaKerjaya is expected to create more jobs, SOCSO urges all unemployed individuals including graduates and school leavers to register their profile on SOCSO’s MyFutureJobs portal. Jobseekers requiring further assistance may call or walk into any SOCSO branch where SOCSO Career Counsellors are ready to assist them,” said SOCSO Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed.
The Application Guidelines, as well as Terms and Conditions of PenjanaKerjaya, have been issued to employers and are available on the SOCSO corporate website.
Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said employers requiring assistance on registration of vacancies or recruitment services may also tap on the services of their Employer Coordinators who are specifically in charge to assist employers with their recruitment needs.
Employers looking for candidates to fill vacancies in their companies may start registering their profile on 15 June 2020 via penjanakerjaya.perkeso.gov.my. Upon hiring the employees under this programme, employers are required to register these employees with SOCSO for their statutory SOCSO contribution obligations.
From 1 July 2020 onwards, employers may select the name of the hired employees under this programme via penjanakerjaya.perkeso.gov.my for approval.
“Approved hiring incentives will be disbursed in the subsequent month after SOCSO contributions are paid, together with the mobility allowances for eligible employees, which are paid to the employees via their employers.”
Employers are required to apply for each newly hired employee only once, where the subsequent payments (for 6 months) will be done automatically.
“From 1 July 2020, employers may choose from the list of approved courses via penjanakerjaya.perkeso.gov.my for their newly hired employees, if required, for the purpose of reskilling and upskilling of the employees.”
The training under this programme is implemented in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF), Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed added.
