KUALA LUMPUR – Max Capital Management Holding Ltd and Money Compass Media has launched Malaysia’s 2020 Merdeka SME e-Fair as an online platform that will help SMEs mitigate the impact of the Movement Control Order (MCO) and COVID-19 pandemic.
The event is a follow up of the previous SME e-Fair that was held on 11 to 12 August. Similar to the previous event, the Merdeka SME e-Fair, which will run from 27 to 29 August, also takes the theme “Thriving SMEs Success & Resilience into New Normal Era”.
“As we celebrate the 63rd Merdeka this year with the theme of Malaysia Pihatin, we are truly embodying the spirit of it within the Merdeka SME e-Fair. By sharing, caring, and working together to help more SMEs to “Merdeka” financially and get through this challenging period in time together as 1 Malaysia,” said Adj. Prof. Max Shangkar, Organising Chairman of the Merdeka SME e-Fair.
The Merdeka SME e-Fair uses the same format as the previously held SME e-Fair where it is segmented into three parts, in three different virtual halls, and will run simultaneously: virtual exhibition, cloud conference, and SME marketplace. Instead of only previews that were available for viewing during the first SME e-Fair, visitors can now view and get the full virtual experience of the e-Fair and e-booths.
Each 3D e-booths in the e-Fair Hall that are available on the SME e-Fair platform has been digitally crafted with detail and precision in order to meet the needs of the exhibitors while still attaining the customer-friendly experience.
The cloud conference in the Webinar Hall consists of webinars and talks given by over 40 experienced and credible local as well as international speakers from various government bodies, associations, and corporations such as PERKESO, Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), SME Corporation Malaysia, BNI, Bursa Malaysia, and Maybank.
The third segment of the Merdeka SME e-Fair is the Marketplace Hall, a virtual space for SMEs, organisations, and associations to promote their products and services to the masses. The current Marketplace now has up to 60 exhibitors including SMEs of various industries such as finance, education, food and beverages, health, digital media, and many more.
“We now have more than 8,000 sign-ups and are now working with over 60 exhibitors for the Merdeka SME e-Fair. We are very proud and very excited of our new platform. Looking back at how the idea started and all the hardwork that the organising team have put in from the beginning, I am proud of all the new milestones we are achieving and we are setting our goals even bigger now onwards,” remarked Max Shangkar.
To show appreciation towards the many exhibitors who have taken part in the Merdeka SME e-Fair, the organisers will be awarding the most voted e-booth to win the “Top SME e-Fair e-Booth Award” title. All visitors of the Merdeka SME e-Fair will be able to vote for their favourite e-booth once they have registered on the platform.
The Merdeka SME e-Fair is sponsored by Ambank Group, Maxis, SQL, Exabytes, I-MAX Financial, Allianz, Alibaba Cloud, Boutir, MyLIFE Association, Biz Reporter, Code 7, and Kebab Bowl. The event is also supported by more than 30 organisations including SME Association Malaysia, Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA), ASEAN Retail-Chains & Franchise Federation (ARFF), BNI KL South, Malaysia Entrepreneurs’ Development Association (PUMM), and Muslim Business Network Association of Malaysia (MUBIN).
“This is just the beginning. We have much more in plan for the future of the SME e-Fair platform. What’s in store will help us further achieve our main aim of helping more SMEs to transform and adapt their businesses to the needs and demands post-MCO by being connected with the right solution providers,” Max Shangkar concluded.
