KUALA LUMPUR – YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin bin Haji Mohd. Yassin, Prime Minister of Malaysia announced the Makmur Bersama portal designed to allow the Rakyat to provide input, feedback and suggestions on Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 also known as Wawasan Kemakmuran Bersama 2030 (WKB2030).
He also shared the success of the initiative to-date and his continued vision for WKB2030. More than 400 Malaysians from all walks of life were present at WKB2030 Townhall with the theme “Advancing the Shared Prosperity Vision Agenda”, organised by Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (Institut MASA) on September 29.
This independent think-tank continues to assist the government in constantly improving and refining WKB 2030. Their approach is to widen public discourse, deepen engagement whilst obtaining insights from Malaysians at all levels.
The WKB2030 Townhall is just one of its many mechanisms, to share updates whilst soliciting feedback from Malaysians, towards better policies and its implementation.
Launched in 2019, WKB2030 is a ten-year commitment to make Malaysia a nation that achieves sustainable growth along with fair and equitable distribution, across income groups, ethnicities, regions and supply chains. The ultimate aim is to provide a fair, realistic standard of living for all Malaysians by 2030.
Mohd Nizam Mahshar, Chief Executive Officer, Institut Masa said “It has been a challenging yet fulfilling journey for us, as we work on the research, development, refinement, and ensuring an effective public discourse of WKB 2030.
The age-old adage of “sharing is caring”, is a philosophy behind this programme, where we truly believe that Shared Prosperity will reduce wealth and income gaps, ensure equitable growth and contribute towards nation building.”
“The 15 guiding principles identified for WKB2030, along with seven thrusts and eight enablers to achieve three objectives of managing inequality and ensuring high growth, will allow for a united, prosperous and dignified nation for all Malaysians.
Our in-depth research and situational analysis helped us arrive at these and we are pleased that the government of Malaysia will continue to implement its policies and initiatives, firmly based and driven by these tenets,” he continued.
Together with the government, Institut Masa is committed to the effective implementation of WKB 2030 together with meaningful participation by all stakeholders towards a better, brighter future for all Malaysians.
