KUALA LUMPUR – Parlo Berhad, a company listed on the Ace Market of Bursa Malaysia, announced the appointment of Mr Ti Lian Seng as executive director on 19 October to drive the company’s expansion beyond leisure, corporate and MICE travel and ancillary services into migrant workforce management services from source to destination countries.
The strategic expansion is expected to provide the Company with a new revenue source, initially from Asean markets and globally at mature stage. Based on International Labour Organisation statistics, the total addressable market is 20.2 million migrants in ASEAN alone.
The new services will include travel, logistics and dormitory arrangements, medical examinations, vocational training, provision of micro-financing and digital identity solutions to digitise the process end-to-end. The Company had on September 25 announced an agreement for the provision of these services to Myanmar’s Diamond Palace Group of Companies Ltd.
Prior to his appointment, Ti has a long association with the Green Packet group of companies, last holding the position of KipleLive CEO, an artificial intelligence-driven property technology unit that pioneered contactless and cashless parking as well as facilitated businesses, schools and hospitals in managing through the Covid-19 pandemic with facial recognition and thermal sensor solutions.
“Digital identity or e-ID will totally transform migrant workforce management services. With secured e- visa channel and general payment gateway, it will enable seamless and authenticated banking, travel, insurance and ancillary commercial services that provide tremendous convenience to migrant workers. These value-added services will create a significant and sustainable business pipeline for Parlo,” Ti enthused.
Ti enjoyed highly successful stints as chief information officer of Webe/Unifi Mobile and chief technology officer of Packet One, the largest fixed broadband provider and a global top three Wimax operator respectively. Ti was also Vice President of Operations at LogicaCMG, a leading mobile solutions provider, prior to joining the Green Packet group.
Concurrently, Parlo also announced the appointment of Md Radzi Din, an accomplished professional
in the technology sector with 33 years of experience in management, business development and marketing, as independent non-executive director.
After earning his stripes with Sapura Group over 18 years, Radzi became associated with the Green Packet group of companies through senior appointments with its holding company as well as subsidiaries, Packet One, Atilze Digital and Atilze AI, in addition to a stint with Theta Edge.
