He emphasized ZTE’s commitment to help accelerate the digital transformation process, by providing the capabilities of 5G-centric connectivity, compute and platform to facilitate the digital transformation of thousands of industries in the Asia Pacific region building and incubating a continuous pipeline of opportunities to create new businesses and growth areas for this region.

According to The Mobile Economy Asia Pacific 2020 report published by the GSM Association, nine markets in this region have launched commercial mobile 5G services and 12 more have officially announced plans to do so. Malaysia is among several nations in the Asia Pacific region, including China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Australia who are all aiming to be global leaders in 5G.

ZTE Malaysia is working closely with its 5G partners in Malaysia, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd and U Mobile Sdn Bhd to accelerate their 5G deployment goals in Malaysia.

Two months ago, U Mobile Sdn Bhd launched its “Fast Forward with U Mobile 5G” live trial at Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur where U Mobile prepaid and postpaid customers with SIMs ready for 5G (pre-activated) will be able to ‘fast forward’ into the future and get a taste of 5G.

The live trial which is currently running until 31 December 2020 is powered by ZTE Corporation. The indoor 5G network is available at selected areas on Lower Ground, Ground Floor and Level 1 of Berjaya Times Square.
