KUALA LUMPUR – Minetech Resources Berhad (Minetech Resources or the Company), in appreciation and recognition of the sacrifices made by the members of the Malaysian Armed Forces, has contributed RM400,000 to the Tabung Pahlawan, a fund set up for needy and disabled veterans as well as their families.
The 2020 Tabung Pahlawan Campaign was launched in August by the patron of the campaign and wife of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, and is scheduled to end on 31 December 2020 with a collection target of RM10 million.
Besides raising funds, the campaign aims to raise awareness of the sacrifices made by veterans as well as foster a spirit of patriotism among Malaysians. A ceremony to handover the contribution, which was officiated by the Senior Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri Yaacob, was held recently at the Ministry of Defence.
Executive Director of Minetech Resources, Azlan Shah Zainal Arif, said, “Our contribution for this worthy cause is in remembrance of the Armed Forces personnel who have sacrificed much in defence of the country. We hope that there is also more awareness of the issues surrounding our veterans and their wellbeing”.
“The contribution is also in aid of veterans’ family members, especially of widows and their children. The Tabung Pahlawan aid also goes to veterans who need aid due to natural disasters or have lost their homes, as well as for buying wheelchairs for the disabled”.
