Cultivating good financial habits in the younger generation is more important than giving them a lot of money, do you agree? Everyone dreams of a happy, financially secured life with our loved ones, but many of us are still constantly trying to overcome financial challenges in life.
Two-thirds of Malaysians are said to be financially illiterate; worse still, many are considered to be in the B40 poverty status with no savings and not enough to see them through retirement. Lacking financial literacy is the root of all financial problems.
Now, are we wise enough to realise the value of money? Do we know how to manage what we earn, what we should spend on, and how to do budgeting?
This leads to the importance of everyone’s duty to teach children and the younger generation about financial literacy, in the same way as we place importance on their education. It is time for the future citizens and backbone of Malaysia, the young generation, to be financially literate.
