PETALING JAYA – Top Glove Corp Bhd is embarking on a massive recruitment drive to hire 9,000 Malaysians this year to meet the growing demand for glove products and help to narrow the country’s unemployment gap.
In a statement, the group said it would be a year-long recruitment drive and the company would be organizing its virtual career fair which began on January 23.
“There will be several other such fairs throughout the year to fill the vacancies, which will be held every third Saturday of the month,” it said
Moreover, Top Glove managing director Datuk Lee Kim Meow says “We understand that many talented and capable candidates have lost their jobs due to the impact of the ongoing pandemic.
“We hope that this year-long recruitment drive will help some of these job seekers find an enriching and rewarding career with a well-established Malaysian brand with a global presence, ” he added.
Furthermore, Top Glove is the world’s largest glove manufacturer with more than 21,000 employees.
“The Top Glove’s virtual career fair is expected to fill positions across all levels from executive to non-executive roles across its offices and factories in various states in Malaysia. It particularly aims to provide gainful employment to fresh university and vocational graduates and general workers in Malaysia, ” the group said.
The positions include 4,000 positions for local workers of which 2,300 positions for university and tech vocational fresh graduates, 2,000 interns and trainees, and 700 experienced Malaysian employees.
