KUALA LUMPUR – Amazon Global Selling held its inaugural Amazon Southeast Asia Online Seller Summit 2021 for Malaysia on February 4 and 5, 2021. This first seller summit in Malaysia themed “Go Global, Sell on Amazon,” aims to provide long-term educational support for Malaysians who are looking to sell on Amazon.
This support builds on Amazon’s current initiatives such as the online seller education series, Seller University, and over 250 new tools and services to help sellers grow their sales in Amazon’s stores worldwide. The online event, joined by representatives from the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), industry partners, and sellers from Malaysia, attracted more than 1,000 attendance in total.
Accelerating the Transformation from Offline to Online
The pandemic has shifted people’s shopping behavior from offline to online, which creates the urgency for businesses to transform to digital. Amazon provides innovative tools, services, and logistics to support global seller’s success. In the past year, Amazon has launched over 250 new tools and services to help sellers grow their sales in Amazon’s stores.
Specific to COVID-19, Amazon understands the impact COVID-19 had on many of our sellers and works hard to help them. Amazon’s online stores have enabled hundreds of thousands of sellers, including those from Malaysia, to sustain and even grow their sales throughout the COVID-19 crisis and beyond.
Malaysia possesses a competitive advantage in manufacturing and e-commerce. There are many Malaysian sellers who have captured the fast-changing trends, which resulted in international expansion through Amazon, especially in product categories such as Jewelry, Health & Personal Care, and Home. As the digital transformation continues, now is a good time for Malaysia sellers to pivot online to set up a global business and establish a global presence.
Empowering SMEs to go Global

Through the support of Amazon’s global network and its logistics and inventory solutions such as Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), sellers can expand to serve global customers all from the comfort and safety of their homes.
