KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysia Literacy in Financial Education Association (MyLIFE) is organising the MyLIFE Food Bank & uLearnMONEY CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Inititative with supporting partner, Max Capital Management (MCM) and strategic partner, Jocom Online grocery, to help the less fortunate communities in Malaysia.
Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman, Senior Advisor and Patron of the MyLIFE Food Bank & uLearnMONEY, said, “The method of doing this food bank and CSR campaign will not only ensure to cater the families’ needs but will also be beneficial in terms of helping the poor family to serve their hunger.”
“The MyLIFE Food Bank and uLearnMONEY CSR initiative aims to cater RM50 per family for 100 families within the Klang Valley who have lost their source of income during the Movement Control Order (MCO). The programme is open to cater to families of local and foreign background located throughout the Klang Valley on a “first-come-first-serve” basis,” MyLIFE said in a statement on April 7.
The food bank programme will be ongoing for 3 months with the probability of an extension depending on the response of donors and recipients.
“I like to also highly compliment uLearnMONEY for offering an affordable course and a platform for young people to elevate their financial literacy, as mastering financial literacy is also essential for living through these hard times and having this kind of education enables the youth to change their own fate and the fate of their families in future.
“With a donation of RM100 per university or college student, uLearnMONEY will also donate RM100 in kind, hence, the donor can help to enable the students to learn structured and systematic financial literacy courses online in an effective way,” Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman added.
He also urged for foundations, financial institutions and corporations who are allocating their CSR budget to programmes regarding elevating financial literacy can consider donating through the MyLIFE.
Sponsored by uLearnMONEY, MQ Consultancy Sdn Bhd and JS Ling, Diyana & Singh (JLDS), the launching ceremony of the MyLIFE Food Bank & uLearnMONEY CSR Initiative was done virtually via Zoom on April 5.
