PUTRAJAYA – Malaysia today has recorded 8,290 new COVID-19 cases, a new daily record for the fourth day running and continuing its upwards surge.
This is the first time the country’s number of daily cases has breached the 8,000 mark.
In a Twitter post, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country’s cumulative cases is now 549,514.
Selangor again recorded the highest number of cases with 2,052, followed by Kelantan with 851 new cases and Kuala Lumpur with 830.
Johor posted 762 new cases, Sarawak has 698, and Kedah has 544.
