KUALA LUMPUR – The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB) will open the Government Special Assistance (BKK) counters starting from today for appeals applications under Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR).
Finance Minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has announced that the appeal period for BPR applications that were not approved would be opened from June 15 to 30.
The government has allocated an additional RM2.1 billion for financial aid under the BPR scheme. The allocation was announced with the Pemerkasa Plus economic stimulus package.
Tengku Zafrul said applicants can submit their appeal online at the official website or by delivering the BPR 2021 appeal form to IRB’s branches, Revenue Service Centres or Urban Transformation Centres in person.
IRB, in a statement yesterday, said the counters would be opened from 8 am until 12 noon according to the working days for each state and via appointments only.
“Once the BPR database is updated, payments will be channelled to the applicants in August (for additional BPR) and September (BPR Phase 3).”
The operating hours of IRB branches would be based on the working days in every state, namely, from 8 am to 1 pm, it said.
BPR-related inquiries can be directed to the BKK line at 1800-88-2747 which will be opened from 9 am to 4 pm, from Monday to Friday.
IRB urged customers to check the list of its offices and branches which were temporarily closed before going to any premises to avoid any problems.
