KUALA LUMPUR – Yayasan Prihatin Nasional, Malaysia Literacy in Financial Education Association (MyLIFE), Federation of Malaysia Business Associations (FMBA) and uLearnMONEY is organising the Keluarga Malaysia 2021 from September 14 to 30 on an exclusive online platform, smeefair.com.my/mymalaysia2021.
Riding on the theme of “Spirit of My Malaysia, Financial Literacy for All”, the national-level event aims to teach and raise the awareness and knowledge of all Malaysians on the importance of having basic financial knowledge, regardless of their age, race, and background. Equally important is to promote a united community and foster strong Malaysian unity.
Amy Seok, Founding Chairman of MyLIFE expressed her concern about Malaysians currently facing financial problems, saying “High rates of scams, bankruptcies and other financial stress are plaguing our rakyat especially the young generation and the B40 community. MyLIFE’s initiative began when we realised the current issues faced by young adults and underprivileged Malaysians struggling with financial issues brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
One of the many events that will be held during the Keluarga Malaysia 2021 is the MyMALAYSIA Financial Webinar that will feature experienced and credible speakers within the finance industry. The webinar’s target audience is students from primary, secondary, and university levels.
The webinar will be organised on September 22 from 2pm to 5pm via the Zoom platform and those who are interested to participate can sign up here. The webinar will also be streamed on the Keluarga Malaysia 2021 official platform and also on Facebook Live.
The first session will begin with a presentation by Mr Maximus Pheng, Founder & CEO of E2E Academy Sdn. Bhd., where his topic will be ‘Master Money Kids – Discover wealth and the hidden mind treasures within us’. The second session will feature Ms. Evonne Chen, Practice Manager from FA Advisory Sdn. Bhd., where she will be talking about ‘Financial Tips for Teens’. Lastly, Abang Abu, Founder of Now Asia International Sdn. Bhd., will be sharing on ‘Money Management for Youngsters During Pandemic’.
“Social changes can only happen through better understanding, raised knowledge and ethical practice. Admittedly, this is no simple task but the rewards are gratifying as it stands to elevate Malaysians’ approach towards a better understanding when it comes to financial literacy, particularly amongst the younger generation,” said Amy Seok.
