Have you ever had the munchies while watching your favourite actor eating chips on TV? And how annoying it can be when you have run out of snacks at home? Well, now you can satisfy your cravings instantly while watching My Ofis, an upcoming local sitcom with TV e-commerce via QR code brought to you by JOCOM.
JOCOM, a Malaysia-based online grocery shopping and shopping delivery service, is now bringing its convenient services to your television screen. The company has partnered with Longhouse Films, a leading TV show producer in Malaysia, to create its first-ever show titled ‘My Ofis’, which will soon stream exclusively on iQiyi Malaysia on May 26.
The light-hearted sitcom centres around the challenges of Jasper, the new intern at My Ofis, a marketing agency, who battles with his boss and office politics while trying to fulfil his rock star dream. The show’s cast includes internet celebrity Aeril Zafrel, veteran actor Alvin Wong, Kahoe Hon, and all-rounder Nasz Sally.
“We are pleased to be the first in Malaysia to bring online grocery shopping into a TV series,” said JOCOM’s founder and Chief Executive Officer Joshua Sew. “I’m sure we can all relate to having an urge to eat or use a product because we saw it on TV. This is where JOCOM comes in to fill the void.”
Sew stated that JOCOM expects a growth of 50% from last year’s revenue GMV and would expect a big leap ahead with the future of e-commerce on TV. Each My Ofis episode will feature selected products from the 19 partners that have collaborated with JOCOM; namely, Homesoy, Spritzer, Pokka, Premier, Popi, Hari-Hari, SBE, MMOA, Ocean Expert, F&N, Nestle, Etika, Science in Skin, SKC Food, Lovas, Team Some, Laksaamana, Tailored Asia and EB.

Watch, Scan & Buy
My Ofis is also unique because it incorporates a TV e-commerce concept via QR code. This means that the audience will be introduced to a new content format via the “Watch, Scan & Buy” concept, which integrates advertising while empowering viewers to instantly and conveniently make purchases based on what they see on screen, with the products delivered right to their doorsteps.
In an exclusive partnership with iQiyi, this is a breakthrough moment for the Malaysian film industry and home-grown businesses alike, pioneering and propelling digitalisation for traditional brands through a local TV series.
It is so simple to shop while watching My Ofis. Using your smartphone’s app, scan the QR code of the item you see that will appear at the bottom right of the screen, which will lead to JOCOM’s product page. Select the products you want and check out. It truly is as easy as A-B-C. Check out the how-to video here.
The Odd One Out
JOCOM is no stranger to forging a path on their own. As Malaysia’s first online grocery app, their mission has always been to deliver groceries right to your doorstep. Now with their partners Longhouse Films and iQiyi, JOCOM aims to co-shape the new content ecosystem which is fitting for today’s digital age, empowering traditional brands and sellers to further digitalise through entertainment – a TV series.
“We are proud to be one of the five local original shows in Malaysia to collaborate with iQiyi,” stated Sew. “And in the spirit of My Ofis’ theme song ‘The Odd One Out’, JOCOM also strives to be the odd one to shake up and revolutionise the e-commerce landscape.”
“Being in the online grocery space since 2014, we have witnessed how online grocery has grown to be an essential business during the pandemic as the demand for home delivery and click-and-collect has sky-rocketed. Online grocery will continue to grow and evolve as we transition into the endemic phase. We believe grocery online is the next big thing with a vast potential for a recurring business model,” Sew opined.
With JOCOM leading the way, Sew is hopeful that more Malaysian businesses will take advantage of the technological advances available to them. “Platforms such as JOCOM offers a convenient way to market and sell your products to the right audience. It is a good launching pad for those wanting to sell their products online without incurring massive costs,” added Sew.

Established in 2014, JOCOM MShopping Sdn. Bhd. (JOCOM) is an M-Commerce platform that enables small, medium and micro enterprises to sell groceries and household products online. The company aims to empower SMEs to capitalise on the M-Commerce trend and make online grocery shopping accessible to the masses in Malaysia and beyond. To date, JOCOM delivers nationwide as well as in China, Indonesia and the USA. In March 2021, the company listed part of its share capital on 1exchange (1EX), Singapore’s first regulated private securities exchange.
