KUALA LUMPUR – Celebrated and all-rounder woman entrepreneur Dr Jezamine Lim, CEO & Co-Founder of Cell Biopeutics Resources received the Distinguished Woman Entrepreneur Lifetime Achievement Award at the World Women Economic & Business Summit organised by KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific recently.
Dr Jezamine Lim was conferred the award by Datuk Hajah Zuraida Kamaruddin, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities along with a few other inspirational and successful female leaders from various backgrounds and industries such as Tiara Jacquelina, Founder of Enfiniti Group, Surina Shukri, AirAsia Group Board and 32 other awardees.

Dr Jezamine Lim is known as a pioneer in the Stem cells industry in Malaysia. She is the founder and CEO of Cell Biopeutics Resources (CBR), a late-stage biotech company that focuses on commercializing scientific research work, particularly in the field of Stem Cells – Regenerative medicine. Dr Lim obtained her MBBS medical degree in Manipal, India and she is also the first woman to get a PhD in Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering at The National University of Malaysia (HUKM). Today CBR focuses on the science of stem cells, bringing innovative cutting edge science and technology into entrepreneurship – treating unmet medical needs (giving patients hope they might not have had) and her vision is for everyone to age gracefully with dignity by providing ethical stem cell therapy.
Dr Lim is also an affiliate of the Young Scientist Network under The Academy of Sciences Malaysia which is made up of 225 of the best young scientists in Malaysia.
For her burning passion in philanthropy, Dr Jezamine is also the co-founder of The Hope Branch – an NGO that, amongst other things, initiated the rescue during the worst floods in Malaysia and was part of the WhiteFlagCampaign (Kempen #BenderaPutih) during the pandemic. To date, The Hope Branch has made an impact on more than 250,000 underprivileged individuals in Malaysia.
Dr Lim is also the co-founder of Harith Iskander Productions and The Joke Factory, Malaysia’s premier stand-up comedy venue, which goal is to uplift the life of Malaysians through comedy.
Due to her diverse portfolio, she has received multiple awards including the Entrepreneur and Personaliti Award by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Malaysia 2019 (Best New Biotech Company) and the Women and Girls in Science Icon 2019. And recently recognised by Cartier and Tatler Malaysia as one of the 10 most Influential women. Dr Lim is also appointed as a Scientific board member for a few private companies.
The World Women Economic and Business Summit (WWEBS) which was held on July 14 to 15, at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur aims to bring together Women Leaders, Entrepreneurs, Educationists, Technologists and Opinion Leaders to discuss the changing role of women in economic development and in the world of business as well as celebrating and recognising outstanding women entrepreneurs and enterprises with the Women Business Leader with Business Excellence Awards and Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Awards.
