KUALA LUMPUR – 111 student participants of the University Entrepreneurship Challenge (UNIEC) 2022 will be gathered at Malaysia Grand Bazaar on Sept 23-25, from 10am to 6pm for the Retail Competition leg, bringing them closer to the grand prize of RM10,000.
These students consist of 18 teams from 15 universities nationwide, who will showcase their products and services at Malaysia Grand Bazaar’s Craft Studio where they will be able to show customers what they have learnt throughout their UNIEC 2022 journey.
UNIEC 2022 is organised by uLearnMONEY, Hakim Academy Sdn Bhd, Money Compass Media and Max Capital Management. To date, the students have already been through four out of the six planned competitions namely the Business Plan Presentations, Website Presentations, Social Media Presentations, and the Digital E-Fair programme.
The upcoming Retail Competition is the second last before the Team Spirit Competition where judges will decide which team would get the RM10,000 grand prize. The First Runner Up will receive RM5,000. There are also consolation prizes and awards for the best-in categories.
During the soft launching of the Retail Competition on Aug 24 at Malaysia Grand Bazaar’s Craft Studio, UNIEC 2022 Organising Chairlady, Ms. Amy Seok, said that the upcoming event on Sept 23-25 will be exciting as the students have been working hard to prepare themselves to get to this point in the competition.
“Our competition has been critical to each team’s growth as the students get feedback from our 16 competition judges, led by our chief judge Mr KC See. The judges’ have helped support the students throughout their UNIEC 2022 journey where they learn real-world experiences in line with our theme of ‘Navigating and Unleashing the Potentials of Young, Aspiring Entrepreneurs’ this year,” Seok said.
During the event, Seok, as the MyLIFE Association founder, also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Quest MasteryAsia for the advancement of financial literacy in Malaysia.
As an advocate for alleviating financial literacy, MyLIFE’s partnership with Quest MasteryAsia would include a Certified Financial Coach (CFC) programme that would allow for participants to join a mentorship programme to become a certified financial coach.
Dato’ Sri Ramachandran, an Emminent Council Member of MyLIFE Association, stated at the event that “This MoU commits us to work together more closely toward our common goals that is the pursuit of elevating financial literacy among our society through financial education programmes. Each side will pursue many significant activities, responsibilities and undertakings to ensure that the objectives of this MOU can be achieved,”
