Kuala Lumpur, November 22 – Farm Fresh Bhd, funded by Khazanah Nasional Bhd, is Malaysia’s lone “Brand of the Year” winner in the dairy products category at the 2022-2023 World Branding Awards ceremony at Kensington Palace in London.
Only 250 businesses were chosen winners in various categories out of over 3,500 nominations from 45 countries.
The World Branding Award is the highest honor bestowed upon the World Branding Forum. Winners are determined by open online voting, consumer market research, and brand appraisal. According to Richard Rowles, head of the World Branding Forum, each country had just five winners.
Farm Fresh, created more than a decade ago by Loi Tuan Ee and Loi Tuan Kin, had a market share of 23% in the total RTD milk sector and 49% in the chilled ready-to-drink (RTD) milk segment as of June 30 this year.
The company operates on a “grass-to-glass” business strategy, cultivating, producing, and distributing a variety of dairy and plant-based products.
It has grown to become Malaysia’s No. 1 Fresh Milk brand and is well-liked by Malaysians. Nevertheless, it has also exported to Brunei and Singapore, with the Philippines and Indonesia being seen as possible future growth markets.
The firm established its Muadzam Shah farm in Pahang through Khazanah, which became fully operational in 2014 with a concentration on dairy cow raising.
Since then, it has expanded its commercial operations by strategic acquisitions, most notably the acquisitions of AFS Dairy Company
Farm Fresh today operates five dairy farms in Malaysia and one dairy farm in Australia, with a total herd size of around 10,309 dairy cows and bulls. These farms cover around 5,416 acres of land.
It also has a processing facility in Kyabram, Australia, with an annual production capacity of approximately 84 million litres of processed milk, and two processing facilities in Johor and Pahang, Malaysia, with a combined annual production capacity of approximately 137 million litres of finished goods.
Moreover, it offers a wide variety of products in numerous product categories, including chilled RTD milk products, ultra-high temperature processing/ambient RTD products, plant-based products, with 135 stock keeping units.
