KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) – Malaysia’s plastics sector remained resilient during the epidemic and has maintained a steady growth rate. According to the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida), 33 projects had been authorized as of June 2022, with a total investment of RM503.5 million in the industry.
Datuk Arham Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive Officer, stated that as the plastics industry grows, it is critical that current companies, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), focus on innovation and productivity in order to compete and capture new opportunities.
“Mida has taken the proactive step to ensure investors have access to the right infrastructure, proper facilities, and skilled talent to cater to the needs of businesses,” he said today in his keynote address at a conference on government assistance at Mida’s headquarters.
