Maxeye Successfully Resolved Patent Litigation with Wacom

As a major strategic achievement for Maxeye, the settlement agreement includes core patent licensing terms: Wacom has officially licensed a key portion of its stylus related patent portfolio to Maxeye. More importantly, the two parties have established a cooperative framework for the future. Should Wacom have any related disputes moving forward, they will be resolved with Maxeye through “amicable negotiation and binding arbitration,” said Jian Deng, CEO of Maxeye.

“Our priority throughout this process has been to protect the interests of our customers and ensure continuity in the products and support we provide,” said Jian Deng, CEO of Maxeye. “This settlement removes uncertainty and allows us to continue focusing on what matters most—delivering reliable stylus solutions.”

Under the agreement, Maxeye is in a stronger position to provide greater certainty to customers when supplying products, the CEO said.

“By selecting Maxeye as their exclusive supplier, our clients secure critical patent authorizations under this agreement, significantly mitigating their legal exposure,” Deng added. “Our stylus pens deliver not only industry-leading technology but also robust intellectual property protection, ensuring our clients can operate with absolute confidence.”

Deng continued: “Maxeye has always been committed to respecting intellectual property. We remain dedicated to technological innovation while recognizing the value of others’ work. With this agreement concluded, we will continue to focus on delivering high-quality stylus products to our customers.”

Hui Shen, a partner in Dorsey & Whitney’s Washington, D.C. office who represented Maxeye in the litigation, said this significant patent litigation was a truly memorable experience.

“Throughout the case, Maxeye’s management team demonstrated an exceptional sense of responsibility toward its customers, business partners, and intellectual property matters.”

Shen observed this case may be an example of many more cases of its kind for other Chinese companies in the future.

“U.S. patent litigation is an important challenge that many fast-growing Chinese technology companies may encounter as they expand internationally. Maxeye not only stood firm in defending its interests and those of its customers throughout this litigation but ultimately reached an agreement that successfully addresses the present dispute while also supporting its long-term business objectives. I believe this outcome will provide an even stronger foundation for Maxeye to establish itself as a well-deserved industry leader in the global market.”
