HSINCHU, Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — M31 Technology (M31), a global silicon intellectual property (IP) provider, today unveiled a technology collaboration with Rambus Inc. for its MIPI CSI (Camera Serial Interface) Controller and MIPI DSI (Display Serial Interface) Controller technologies. This collaboration combines these controller capabilities with M31’s silicon-proven MIPI PHY portfolio with a strong track record of successful deployments, enabling M31 to offer a comprehensive MIPI subsystem solution integrating high-speed MIPI PHYs and MIPI CSI/DSI controllers to address the growing requirements of high-resolution imaging and display applications.

By integrating key functions such as MIPI CSI and DSI controllers, M31 helps customers reduce verification and development risks typically associated with multi-vendor integration, while accelerating product development and time-to-market. This milestone further strengthens M31’s product completeness and competitiveness in the MIPI interface IP market.

With demand continuing to rise across smartphones, automotive ADAS cameras, multi-display cockpit systems, and AI edge devices, MIPI has become the mainstream standard for camera and display interfaces, with its application scope expanding steadily. Industry analysts project that the global interface IP market will reach approximately US$5.4 billion by 2029, accounting for a growing share of the overall semiconductor IP market. High-speed interface IP—such as USB, PCIe, and MIPI—continues to be a key growth driver for the silicon IP licensing market.

“MIPI integrated solutions are increasingly in demand as smartphones, automotive displays, and intelligent cockpits move toward higher resolutions and multi-display designs,” said Scott Chang, CEO of M31. “In the past, customers often needed to procure controllers separately and then rely on M31 for integration. With this collaboration, customers can more confidently entrust the complete MIPI interface design to M31, reducing verification and development risks caused by cross-vendor integration. The synergies of a combined sub-system will further enhance M31’s competitiveness in the MIPI market.”

As M31 expands its portfolio from PHY-only offerings to complete subsystem solutions that include controllers, the average total contract value of related engagements is expected to increase compared with the previous PHY-only licensing model. Overall, this one-stop approach not only increases the value of MIPI-related IP design wins, but also further reinforces M31’s competitive advantage in the global MIPI interface IP market—supporting the company’s strategic focus on automotive, smartphones, and AI edge computing applications.
