Class II malocclusion often involves upper-lower jaw discrepancy and facial convexity, with traditional treatments ranging from extraction to orthognathic surgery. Smartee believes not all Class II cases require these approaches. Prof. Gang Shen’s new diagnostic and classification system of malocclusion helps identify cases suitable for mandibular advancement repositioning. At the meeting, Dr. Guo introduced this approach through S8-SGTB, focusing on case selection and integration with clear aligner treatment. For selected patients, this may reduce the need for extraction or surgery.
