KUALA LUMPUR — Foreign investors continued to pull money out of Bursa Malaysia, recording net selling of RM195 million in a single day — the largest daily net foreign outflow so far in October.
Local investors, however, moved in the opposite direction. Retail investors emerged as a major source of support with net buying of RM150 million, well ahead of local institutions, which recorded RM45 million in net purchases.

FBM KLCI Battles Around the 1,600-Level
On the broader market, the FBM KLCI opened slightly higher at 1,602.94 points and briefly climbed to 1,603.19 before reversing course. The benchmark index subsequently fell to an intraday low of 1,600.55.
As of 9.10am, trading volume stood at 255.80 million shares valued at RM118.40 million. Market breadth remained negative, with 162 gainers against 215 decliners.
Transport and Logistics Leads Five Advancing Sectors
Sector-wise, five indices were in positive territory during the morning session, led by the transportation and logistics index with a 0.4% gain.
Eight sectors traded lower, with the healthcare and telecommunications and media indices each falling 0.4%, making them the weakest performers in early trade.
DNEX Jumps on Settlement News
Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNEX, 4456, Main Market technology stock) was among the most actively traded counters after announcing yesterday that it had reached a settlement with Tethystronics Technologies Company over disputes involving semiconductor foundry joint venture SilTerra Malaysia.
The news lifted DNEX by 1.5 sen, or 2.9%, to 54 sen. Trading volume reached 34.48 million shares, making it the most actively traded stock in the morning session.
