KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor Techsphere Summit (STS) 2026 opens today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, featuring more than 35 conference sessions and 34 participating exhibitors across four days.
The summit brings together industry leaders, manufacturers, technology companies, government representatives and experts for four days of discussions on the technologies and capabilities shaping the future of industry.
As businesses face growing pressure to adopt new technologies, improve productivity and remain competitive, STS 2026 will focus on how developments in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, automation, sustainability and talent are changing the way industries operate and invest.
Held from 14 to 17 October 2026, the summit will focus on four key areas: AI and the Digital Economy, Semiconductors and Microelectronics, Green Technology and Smart Automation, and Governance, Talent and TVET 4.0.

Hosted by the Selangor State Government, delivered in collaboration with the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC) and powered by HANNOVER MESSE, STS 2026 aims to connect global technology developments with the practical needs of businesses and industries in Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.
The programme brings together perspectives from organisations including Siemens Malaysia, Intel Corporation, McKinsey & Company, Kearney, Festo and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM), covering industrial, technological and workforce issues that are becoming increasingly important to businesses.
Tim Bostridge, Managing Director of Hannover Fairs Asia Pacific, said Selangor’s industrial strengths provide a strong foundation for technological transformation.
“Selangor’s key advantages lie in its diversified industrial base, strategic location, highly skilled workforce and progressive state policies that actively support innovation.
“The alignment between Malaysia’s industrial ambitions and the core themes of HANNOVER MESSE is clear, particularly in AI-powered industrial transformation, sustainable manufacturing, smart energy solutions and innovation in production at scale.
“This is where Malaysia’s industrial innovation meets national policy and business outcomes, and where Selangor demonstrates what coordinated innovation looks like.”

Connecting technology with industry needs
The first day of STS 2026 focuses on AI and the Digital Economy, looking at how artificial intelligence and digital technologies are moving beyond experimentation towards practical applications across businesses and industries.
Among the opening day highlights is a keynote by global geopolitics and technology expert Alex Capri titled “Techno Nationalism: Strategic Competition in the 21st Century”. His session will examine how global competition over strategic technologies is influencing manufacturing, trade, semiconductor supply chains and investment decisions across Malaysia and ASEAN.
The opening day will also feature industry and technology leaders including Tindaro Danze, President and CEO of Siemens Malaysia, Michael Thavarajah, Principal Engineer at Intel Corporation, and Dr Che Fai Yeong, CEO of DF Automation & Robotics. Discussions will cover AI investment, manufacturing readiness, Physical AI and the adoption of advanced technologies.
Over the next three days, the conversation will expand into other areas affecting the future of industry.
On 15 October, the focus will turn to Semiconductors and Microelectronics, examining Malaysia’s position within the global semiconductor value chain and the capabilities required to support its continued development.
Green Technology and Smart Automation will take centre stage on 16 October, with discussions on how businesses can combine automation and digitalisation with sustainability, efficiency and resilience.
The summit will conclude on 17 October with Governance, Talent and TVET 4.0, focusing on the skills, talent and institutional capabilities required to support higher value industries and long-term industrial development.
Dr Harizal, Chief Executive Officer of Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC) said STS 2026 reflects Selangor’s ambition to strengthen its connections with the regional and global technology ecosystem.
“Our ambition goes beyond organising another technology summit. We want STS 2026 to become a platform that connects Selangor and Malaysia with ASEAN and the wider global technology ecosystem where international expertise meets Malaysian talent, where industries discover new opportunities for collaboration and investment, and where our young people can see themselves not merely participating in the future but helping to create it.”
More than industry conversations
Alongside the conference programme, STS 2026 will feature an industrial technology showcase covering artificial intelligence, robotics and automation, smart manufacturing, industrial software, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, sustainable production and advanced engineering.
Companies including Google Cloud Malaysia, Festo, Weidmüller and Signode, together with Malaysian technology and automation specialists, will showcase solutions across AI, industrial connectivity, factory automation and next-generation production systems.
Over the four days, the combination of industry discussions and technology showcases will allow businesses to better understand how new technologies can be applied, where investment may be needed and what capabilities companies will need to build as industries continue to evolve.
STS 2026 forms part of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026, creating further opportunities for engagement between industry, government, investors, technology providers and the wider regional business community.
For Selangor, STS supports the state’s wider ambition to strengthen its position in advanced industry, technology development and investment. At the same time, the summit gives businesses a platform to examine the technologies, skills, and capabilities that will become increasingly important to their competitiveness and growth.
Selangor Techsphere Summit 2026 is open to the public from 14 to 17 October at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with complimentary access to all four days of the conference programme and industrial technology exhibition. Visitors are encouraged to register in advance at https://selangortechsphere.com/. Complimentary walk-in registration will also be available throughout the event.
