Insurer Pays Tribute to Malaysians for Inspiring 88 Years of Innovations
Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd (PAMB) kicked off its 88th anniversary celebration by lending its ears to fellow Malaysians in “Project Listen” as a tribute to Malaysians for inspiring 88 years of innovations.
Charlie Oropeza, Chief Executive Officer of PAMB, said: “The Malaysian public especially our customers, have been a big part of our success. By listening to them, we have learnt amazing stories about their lives which have inspired many of our innovations in the last 88 years.
“Hence, we would like to dedicate Project Listen to all Malaysians who have shared with us a wonderful piece of their lives. We hope Project Listen will inspire other Malaysians the way these stories have inspired us,” he told reporters at the launch of the insurer’s 88th anniversary campaign in Kuala Lumpur in May.
At least 18 stories will be featured in Project Listen, which will be shown on the insurer’s corporate website, www.prudential.com.my, over a period of six months starting from May 10, 2012. Among them are a story about a Chinese who, tries to break into the Indian music scene; an ex-prisoner’s account of his life behind bars; an uplifting story about a cancer survivor who despite her own condition, gives hope to others and in the process recovers miraculously from the terminal disease; and, a volunteer who realises the sanctity of lives while volunteering in the aftermath of Japan’s tsunami disaster.
At the same time, PAMB is also inviting the public to share interesting or inspiring stories of hope, love, laughter and sorrow.
“It can be your own story or someone else’s story. Basically, Project Listen is a collection of amazing stories of Malaysians, by Malaysians, for Malaysians,” added Oropeza. Those who are interested to participate can submit their stories either online, via email or by post. More information on how to get involved is available on www.prudential.com.my.
Besides showcasing stories of incredible human spirit, Project Listen also allows the public to contribute to a charitable cause simply by listening to the inspiring stories.
“We want to show the public the power of listening which is central to what we do every day at Prudential. We want them to know that it is as gratifying to listen to others as it is to be listened to. By listening to these incredible stories, you will also help turn a life around because each time you share a video or story from Project Listen, Prudential will pledge RM1 to PRUkasih, our CSR project which helps to provide financial protection to urban poor families in times of need. Hopefully this will encourage more people to join us in our journey of listening,” said Oropeza.
The integrated A&P campaign to commemorate PAMB’s 88th Anniversary will commence on May 10, 2012 and is scheduled to run for six months across multiple channels including TV, print, radio, billboards, online and PR.
