HANGZHOU, China, June 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — EZVIZ, a global leader in smart home technology, has announced the international rollout of its self-developed wild animal detection algorithm, marking a significant milestone in its visual intelligence capabilities. As one of the first companies in the industry to introduce AI-powered wild animal detection, EZVIZ will debut the feature on its soon-to-be-launched battery-powered outdoor cameras, with future availability coming via software updates or subscription-based services.

Developed by the EZVIZ Al Lab, the algorithm uses multimodal data analysis and advanced scene recognition to accurately detect wildlife in real time. It can recognize up to 26 different animal species, including potentially dangerous ones like snakes, bears, and wolves, as well as protected or migratory species such as lions, elephants, and zebras. Users receive instant alerts and video recordings when wildlife is detected near their property, so as to avoid unnecessary conflicts that will lead to personal safety risks or impair biodiversity.

“The development and application of this algorithm represents a significant technical breakthrough and our deep commitment to helpful technologies,” said Po Wang, the inventor of this algorithm, who’s in charge of EZVIZ’s international business center. A veteran product engineer and a firm tech evangelist, Wang led the development and global rollout of the algorithm. ‘We envision this as a universal public capability – one that, through the global reach of EZVIZ’s smart home products, provides accessible safety and human-centered care to communities everywhere. At the same time, it opens up new possibilities for ecological protection and wildlife observation.’

The launch comes at a crucial time, with human-wildlife encounters becoming increasingly frequent. According to the World Health Organization, globally around 5 million people are bitten by snakes annually, and an estimate of 180,000 deaths are caused by animal bites. A joint report by World Wildlife Fund and the United Nations Environment Programme identifies human-wildlife conflict as a leading cause of wildlife population decline.

By integrating this AI technology into its widely beloved smart home cameras, EZVIZ provides practical and scalable outdoor safety solutions that benefit both people and the planet. EZVIZ plans to further develop the algorithm and increase its availability as part of its ongoing mission to protect life, respect nature and empower communities through inclusive, impactful technology.
