NEW TAIPEI CITY, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Smart Power System Co., Ltd. (SPS) will exhibit at 2026 Net-Zero Taiwan & Energy Taiwan from October 14 to 16 at booth K0516 in Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1. The company will introduce GridInsight, its next-generation energy data platform, and demonstrate the redesigned GridInsight EMS energy management interface. The update builds on SPS’s experience in energy storage and renewable energy monitoring and incorporates years of operational feedback from asset owners and O&M teams. It extends the platform from utility-scale, front-of-the-meter storage sites to commercial and industrial behind-the-meter users, with the aim of improving asset monitoring, dispatch, and operating returns.

The GridInsight next-generation energy data platform includes four software suites: EMS, SCADA, VPP, and Assessment. It supports eight application areas: AI data centers, front-of-the-meter storage, behind-the-meter storage, solar PV, solar-plus-storage, microgrids, electricity trading, and smart substations. The lower-left image shows the new GridInsight EMS interface.
Operational Feedback Behind the Redesign
As renewable generation and energy storage expand, the speed and accuracy of operations and maintenance (O&M) decisions directly affect long-term asset returns at both utility-scale sites and commercial and industrial behind-the-meter facilities. The new GridInsight EMS interface incorporates feedback from asset owners and O&M teams and focuses on four frequently used workflows: monitoring, analysis, reporting, and work orders.
Four Improvements in the New Interface
Customizable monitoring views: Users can drag and arrange elements to create role-specific views. O&M managers can review alarms and operating status across multiple sites, field engineers can focus on the real-time status of a single power conversion system (PCS) or battery system, and behind-the-meter users can see electricity consumption, solar generation, and storage performance at a glance.
Historical trend comparison across multiple measurement points: Users can select measurement points, such as the point of connection (POC) main meter, a single PCS, or total PV output, and choose a query period. They can then overlay the trends to compare operating conditions before and after an event, shortening fault isolation and diagnosis time.
Automated report generation: Daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports can be configured by schedule and format and generated automatically, reducing the time required for manual data preparation.
Direct conversion of alarms into work orders: Users can create an O&M work order from alarm information with one click, keeping notification, dispatch, and on-site resolution in one workflow.
Behind the Meter Applications Across On Premises and Cloud Deployments
GridInsight EMS uses a dual architecture spanning on-premises systems and the cloud. The on-premises EMS handles real-time site control, while the cloud platform can monitor and maintain multiple sites at once. Service providers supporting behind-the-meter customers can manage geographically dispersed customer sites in one platform, reducing travel and labor for O&M. End users can also use the cloud to review the operating status and performance of their energy storage and solar assets.
Better Load Visibility for More Accurate Dispatch
The value of behind-the-meter storage depends on understanding customer loads, rather than only charging and discharging in response to frequency. GridInsight EMS analyzes load conditions and consumption patterns and combines load and generation forecasts to define storage dispatch strategies. This helps customers participate in demand response, meet large electricity user obligations, perform peak shaving and load shifting, conduct energy arbitrage, and maintain backup power, improving asset value and renewable energy utilization.
A Stable and Reliable Control Core
Beneath the new interface, GridInsight EMS retains control technologies proven across multiple site types. The stability achieved at utility-scale sites is now available to behind-the-meter users. When behind-the-meter storage participates in real-time reserve and other ancillary services, the system can follow dispatch instructions reliably, support dispatch revenue, and reduce the risk of penalties for underperformance. For commercial and industrial facilities, the system can automatically enter island mode and perform a black start after a utility outage. It can also support seamless transfer to maintain power to critical loads. This capability has been demonstrated in disaster-resilient campus microgrid projects.
As more behind-the-meter sites move to cloud management, cybersecurity is a baseline requirement. SPS has achieved IEC 62443-3-3 Security Level 2 (SL2) certification for industrial control system cybersecurity.
Extending the Platform with GridInsight VPP Cloud Services
The same cloud architecture will also support GridInsight VPP, which aggregates distributed behind-the-meter storage, solar PV, microgrids, charging stations, and other power assets for participation in demand response and electricity markets. Companies with multiple factories or locations can use GridInsight VPP to establish a dedicated corporate energy management platform and manage energy sites across Taiwan in one place.
Booth Forums at Energy Taiwan
During the exhibition, visitors can try the new GridInsight EMS interface at booth K0516. SPS will also host seven booth forums on October 14 and 15. General Manager Dr. Kevin Huang will open the program with a presentation on “SPS 2.0.” Topics include the GridInsight platform, AI data centers, Power SCADA, IEC 62443 and JC-STAR cybersecurity certification, and global energy trends. Energy industry professionals are welcome to visit and exchange ideas.
Show hours: October 14-15, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; October 16, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Venue: Booth K0516, 1F, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 (No. 1, Jingmao 2nd Road, Nangang District, Taipei City)
