Beyond its role in Korea, this project marks an important step in Arkema’s strategy to further develop the GAA market in Northeast Asia. By adding a local storage node to its regional supply network, Arkema will strengthen the connection between regional supply capabilities, logistics and market operations, supporting a more integrated supply setup for the region.

Hervé Castres Saint Martin, Group President for Acrylic Monomers at Arkema, said: “Asia is a key region in Arkema’s global acrylics footprint. This project in Korea further strengthens our regional synergies across Northeast Asia and better connects our production, supply and logistics networks. By bringing us closer to our Korean customers, it will also enable our regional footprint to better support customer-driven application development and collaborative innovation. This project reflects our long-term commitment to deepening our presence in Asia, enhancing regional supply resilience, and driving business growth through innovation and sustainability.”

Arkema is one of the world’s major producers of acrylic monomers. Supported by its production site in Taixing, China, Arkema’s acrylic business in Asia plays a key role in the Group’s regional operations, serving markets across China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia. Alongside strengthening its regional presence, Arkema is also advancing sustainability initiatives across its acrylic value chain, including ISCC+ Mass Balance certification across all of its acrylic monomer production sites worldwide, further supporting customers seeking lower-carbon and more circular materials solutions.

Building on its unique set of expertise in materials science, Arkema offers a portfolio of first-class technologies to address ever-growing demand for new and more sustainable materials. With the ambition to become a world leader in Specialty Materials, the Group is structured into three complementary, resilient and highly innovative segments dedicated to Specialty Materials – Adhesive Solutions, Advanced Materials, and Coating Solutions – accounting for some 85% of Group sales in 2025, and a Primary Materials segment regrouping well-positioned large scale industrials activities. Arkema offers cutting-edge technological solutions to meet the challenges of, among other things, new energies, access to water, recycling, urbanization and mobility, and fosters a permanent dialogue with all its stakeholders. The Group reported sales of around €9.1 billion in 2025 and operates in some 55 countries with 20,700 employees worldwide.
