Three Flagship Vehicles Take Center Stage
On the exhibition’s opening day, CRRC unveiled three full-size vehicles for the global market: a digital-intelligent metro train, a hydrogen fuel-cell hybrid locomotive, and an intelligent flat wagon, spanning urban transit, mainline railways, and freight logistics. Centered on green and intelligent core technologies, the three vehicles showcase CRRC’s equipment innovation strengths across diverse scenarios and a full product portfolio.
At the ceremony, CRRC launched the VELLINK urban rail platform, which features premium standardized metro trains and intelligent regional commuter trains. The flagship model is a digital-intelligent metro train, representing the industry’s first application of embodied AI in mass transit. Equipped with integrated multi-source sensors, the train creates an integrated sensing network to monitor tracks and identify potential failures in real time, reducing lifecycle maintenance costs. Furthermore, lightweight materials and deep system integration reduce total vehicle weight by approximately 18%, cutting energy consumption by more than 10% compared with conventional vehicles. The train’s industrial design has won the international iF Design Award. Features including floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows, a starlit ceiling, and rotatable seating effectively elevate the passenger travel experience.
At the outdoor exhibition area, CRRC also displayed its VELFORCE hydrogen fuel-cell hybrid locomotive, rated at 2,000 kW. Powered by a parallel dual-stack fuel-cell system delivering 400 kW, it can be refueled in just 15 to 20 minutes and achieves a hydrogen utilization rate exceeding 98%. Its deep-learning-based intelligent driving platform integrates data from multiple sensors to provide 360-degree environmental awareness and intelligent decision-making capabilities, making the locomotive a zero-emission option for regional freight routes that are not fully electrified.
For freight yard shunting and intermodal operations, CRRC introduced the MAGIX intelligent flat wagon. Weighing only 17 metric tons while supporting a 73-metric-ton load capacity, the wagon reduces energy consumption through its lightweight structural design. It combines modularity, automation, sustainability, and intelligent technology with a high degree of operational flexibility, transforming conventional freight equipment into a cost-effective, lower-impact solution for short-haul and terminal logistics.
