As interest in Korean cuisine continues to grow across North America, traditional Korean fermented sauces and pastes such as gochujang are gaining attention not only as ingredients for specific dishes but also as versatile sauces for everyday use. In response, Daesang has designated sauces as one of its four key global product categories, alongside kimchi, gim (Korean seaweed), and convenience foods. Under the Ofood brand, the company offers a wide range of products, including gochujang-based table sauces, K-BBQ sauces, tteokbokki sauces, and chicken dipping sauces.

Ofood’s flagship Natural Gochujang retains the deep flavor of traditional gochujang while offering greater convenience, with a thinner consistency and a milder fermented aroma. Packaged in a tube, it can be easily drizzled over tacos, salads, and spring rolls or used as a dipping sauce. The product ranks No. 1 among Daesang’s sauce exports, with 2025 sales up approximately 84% year over year. It is currently available through major retail channels, including Walmart.

Daesang also offers a variety of products that adapt popular Korean flavors to local eating habits. Gochujang Tteokbokki Hot Sauce captures the spicy-sweet flavor of tteokbokki, one of Korea’s signature street foods, and can be used not only for tteokbokki but also in dishes such as pasta and gnocchi. Made primarily with soy sauce and gochujang, All Purpose Korean BBQ Sauce can be used as a meat marinade, stir-fry sauce, or dipping sauce.

Chicken Dipping Sauce makes it easy to enjoy the flavors of K-chicken at home, with a gochujang base that delivers the distinctive spicy-sweet flavor of Korean-style seasoned fried chicken. Mayo Gochujang, which combines gochujang and mayonnaise, pairs well with burgers and French fries.

Daesang currently exports approximately 480 sauce products to around 60 countries worldwide, including the United States. The company plans to continue developing K-sauces tailored to consumer trends in individual countries and regions, expand distribution through mainstream retail channels worldwide, and strengthen its presence in global sauce markets, including the United States.

Eun-young Park, Head of Daesang’s Food Business Unit, said, “As interest in K-Food continues to grow, traditional Korean fermented sauces and pastes such as gochujang are gaining attention as versatile sauces that local consumers can incorporate into everyday meals. We will continue to introduce Ofood products that preserve authentic Korean flavors while reflecting the tastes and food culture of each market, and expand our reach in mainstream markets in the United States and around the world.”
