GAC’s AION UT has won Best Exterior Design at the 2026 Torino Automotive Design Award (TADA), held during the 2026 Torino Auto Show. The award recognizes the model’s distinctive visual identity and its combination of design expression and everyday practicality.
The TADA jury highlighted AION UT’s clean, cohesive design, balanced proportions and distinctive character. Its smooth surfaces and carefully considered details create a recognizable silhouette without excessive decoration. The jury also praised the spacious, thoughtfully designed cabin as evidence of the vehicle’s overall design coherence.
Designed in Milan by GAC’s Milan Design Center, AION UT balances functionality and personality. Its compact body is paired with a 2,750 mm wheelbase, helping create a spacious and versatile interior for daily use. The model offers up to 430 km of range under the WLTP cycle, supporting regular commuting and longer journeys.
The AION UT is assembled at the Magna facility in Graz, Austria. Local assembly increases supply chain flexibility and allows GAC to respond more efficiently to European market needs. Following its European debut at Milan Design Week in 2025, the model is currently available in Greece, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom. Further European market launches are planned.
GAC has also recently expanded its sports marketing activities in Europe through a strategic partnership with Villarreal CF. As the club’s Official Automotive Partner, GAC will have its logo displayed on the left sleeve of Villarreal CF’s first‑team match shirts in LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League. The two organizations also plan to collaborate on match‑related communications, brand experiences and fan engagement.
GAC AION UT and AION V, two key models in GAC’s European lineup, will feature in related brand and fan activities. These will give consumers opportunities to experience the AION UT compact electric hatchback and the AION V electric SUV developed for European families.
These developments come as GAC advances its European Market Plan, encompassing new product introductions, sales channel development, service support and localized operations.
