Growth at Kalbis University and Horizon University is powered by real student stories of refusing to be limited. Farras and Dinda are examples of students who continue to push forward and pursue what’s possible.

Growth at both universities is powered by students who refuse to be limited by their circumstances. Dinda paused her education to support her family after seeing her father, who lives with a disability, working as a driver. She spent four years in the workforce before enrolling in Kelas Karyawan, Kalbis University’s flexible degree pathway for working professionals, to pursue a Business Management degree while working full-time in Jakarta.

“I used to think studying and working could never happen at the same time. Kalbis’ Kelas Karyawan program proved me wrong — I get to pursue my career and my degree at once, without choosing between them.”  — Dinda, Kelas Karyawan student, Kalbis University

Farras, a nursing graduate of Horizon University and the first in her family to earn a college degree, found similar support on her journey. Her mother, Yayah, reflects on what that meant for their family.

“Sometimes what gives parents confidence isn’t just the name of the university — it’s the people behind it, the ones who believe in their children and walk alongside them every step of the way.”  — Yayah, Farras’s mother

The success of its students is a testament to Horizon Education’s commitment to delivering quality education and creating opportunities for every student to thrive.

Since coming under Horizon Education’s management in 2024, Kalbis University has more than tripled its incoming freshman class, with programs spanning Business, Technology, Communications, Psychology, Design, and Tourism, plus new offerings in Nursing, Midwifery, Primary Education, and English Education.

In Karawang, serving the wider Purwasukasi region of Purwakarta, Subang, and Kabupaten Bekasi, Horizon University has nearly tripled enrollment over six years to nearly 3,000 students. It houses the region’s largest Health Sciences faculty, offering Diploma and undergraduate programs in Nursing and Midwifery, as well as the Nursing Professional Program. In the 2026 competency exams, the university achieved a 100% passing rate for the Nursing Professional Program for the first time, alongside 100% passing rates for D3 Midwifery for four consecutive years and D3 Nursing for three consecutive years.

Its other undergraduate offerings include Informatics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Accounting, Management, and Tourism. The university remains the only campus in Purwasukasi with an iOS lab. Five new undergraduate programs — Psychology, Communication Science, English Education, Primary School Teacher Education, and Early Childhood Education — have further expanded its offerings, alongside flexible Kelas Karyawan tracks in Psychology and Communication Science.

Both universities also run the Global Workplace English Program to build students’ language proficiency and confidence, alongside active, hands-on learning approaches paired with coaching and guidance throughout the journey.

PHINMA Education Country Head for Indonesia Dr. Raymundo P. Reyes noted the focus on accessible programs and a supportive learning environment as the core of PHINMA Education, including Horizon Education in Indonesia.

“Every student has a different journey. Some are working professionals, some are the first in their family to attend college, and many are balancing school with family responsibilities. We believe higher education should adapt to students’ lives—not the other way around—so they have every opportunity to complete their studies and achieve their goals.”  — Dr. Raymundo P. Reyes, Country Head – Indonesia, PHINMA Education
