Alan Chang (right), Group CEO of OA Group of Companies, receives the SkillsFuture Employer Awards 2026 (Silver) on behalf of Singapore Corporate Services at the awards ceremony on 28 October 2026.

SCS combines support for professional qualifications, workplace mentoring and practical experience to help employees build their capabilities and grow into broader roles. In 2025, SCS employees completed more than 1,070 hours of learning, averaging 30.6 hours per employee.

As AI reshapes accountancy work, this approach also helps employees apply new digital skills while exercising professional judgement.

“Professional qualifications build a foundation. We also give people opportunities to apply their knowledge, work across different areas of the business and take on greater responsibility,” said Alan Chang, Group CEO of OA Group of Companies. “As we introduce AI into our work, the same principle applies: support people in learning the tools, then help them develop the judgement to use them well.”

Putting new skills into practice

Axton Yong joined SCS as an associate in 2017 and went on to attain the Chartered Accountant of Singapore designation, conferred by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA). His role later expanded into corporate advisory, where he applies his professional knowledge to business questions.

With company support, Axton took part in ISCA’s AI Fluency Programme. He now uses AI to support industry and company research when preparing advisory proposals, exploring alternatives and challenging assumptions while checking the relevance and accuracy of the findings.

He estimates that gathering and organising this research now takes under eight hours, compared with three to five working days previously.

“This gives the team more time to check the findings, understand what they mean and work out the right recommendations,” said Axton.

He also contributes to OA Group’s AI pilot team, testing applications on workplace tasks and assessing the checks needed before wider use.

From intern to general manager

Chris Zhang joined SCS as an intern in 2015, gained experience in audit and accounting advisory roles across OA Group, and became General Manager of OA China in 2025. Working on Hong Kong IPO projects for Chinese companies helped him develop the ability to coordinate across teams and understand wider business priorities, skills he draws on today in leading OA China.

When he returned to China, OA adjusted his working arrangements so he could continue building his career with the firm.

“Looking back, what I value most is the trust OA placed in me and the opportunities it gave me to grow,” said Chris. “I hope to give my colleagues the same reassurance I received: that they are trusted with responsibility, given room to grow, and supported when they need it most.”
