The eight-member group — consisting of Saiki Ittetsu, Akagi Wen, Usami Rito, Hibachi Mana, Hoshirube Sho, Murakumo Kagetsu, Koyanagi Rou and Inami Rai — is made up of VTubers from NIJISANJI, a group of VTubers/virtual livestreamers (known as “Virtual Livers” in the NIJISANJI sphere). Formed around a cohesive “heroes” concept, MECHATU-A debuted the first half, Oriens, in March 2023 and quickly gained popularity through a combination of gaming, comedic group variety streams, and music activities. The other half, Dytica, that debuted in April 2023 further consolidated the group’s large following.
The group has also established a strong reputation for their musical chemistry, with their energetic signature track “MECHA-MECHA” surpassing 1 million views on YouTube shortly after its release.
